Olga Koumoundouros (b. 1965, Queens, New York; lives and works in Los Angeles) received an MFA from California Institute for the Arts in 2001, an MA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 1997, and a BA from the University of Vermont in 1990. She currently examines the economics and flow of energy and resources within the dynamics of labor that provide sustenance for all humans. Koumoundouros has had solo exhibitions at Los Angeles Nomadic Division (2017); Clockshop, Los Angeles (2014); Susanne Vielmetter Los Angeles Projects (2013); Hammer Museum, Los Angeles (2013); Project Row Houses, Houston (2010); and L.A. Louver, Los Angeles (2010). Selected group exhibitions have been held at Angels Gate Cultural Center, San Pedro, CA (2019); Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery (2019, 2016); Orange County Museum of Art, Santa Ana (2017); Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (2016); Palm Springs Art Museum (2015); High Desert Test Sites, Wonder Valley (2014); and Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (2013). Koumoundouros is the recipient of the City of Los Angeles Individual Artist Fellowship (2019); Investing in Artists Grant from the Center for Cultural Innovation (2014, 2012), the California Community Foundation Calfund Mid-career Fellowship (2012) and the Foundation for Contemporary Art Emergency Grant (2011).  


Koumoundouros' work is in the collections of Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, CA; Orange County Museum of Art, Santa Ana, CA; and Whitney Museum of American Art, New York
